Wonton EGG Noodle Soup

Homemade Wonton

Ingredients

  1. Wonton Wrappers

  2. Ground Pork or/and Shrimp

  3. Carrots, minced

  4. Green Onions, minced

  5. Ginger, minced

  6. Garlic, minced

  7. Pepper

  8. Sesame oil

  9. Shaoxing Hua Tiao Cooking Wine or Oyster Sauce and Rice Vinegar

  10. Corn Starch to balance the wetness and keep things together


In the broth

  1. 6-8 cups of Chicken Broth or Beef Bone Broth

  2. Egg Noodles

  3. Baby Bokchoy or Spinach

  4. Soy Sauce


Optional

  1. Sesame Seeds

  2. Chili Crisp (Spicy Chili Oil)

  3. Fish sauce

  4. Hoisin sauce

  5. Sriracha


Steps:

  • Cut your green onions into thin coins/circles leave a long sticks of the bottom whites for broth later

  • Add 1lb of ground meat, sx sauce (splash aka 2-3 tbs), s&p, green onions chopped, minced carrots, splash (1-2tbs of seasame oil), a dash of corn starch (aka 1-2tbs) in a bowl. Mix and let marinate for a bit

  • Mine your ginger (approx 1-2in nub) and garlic (4-6 cloves) then toast on skillet w/ some oil until it’s browned or fragrant we’re looking for a Smokey flavor so don’t let it burn. Put this into the meat marinate and mix.

  • Make sure it wonton wrappers are completely defrosted start making ur wontons with 1/4-1/2tbs of meat filling

  • While ur doing the dumplings start ur boiling water if using chicken bouillon cubes OR do a whole premade bone broth container of w/ 1 bouillon cube and throw in ur green onions chopped whites let that boil

  • Once ur done w all the prep just throw ur noodles, veggies like bok choy and dumpling in the hot boiling soup and serve
