Cold tofu

Ingredients

  • 16 oz silken or firm tofu

  • 3 tbs soy sauce

  • 1 tbs chili oil

  • 1 tbs black vinegar or ponzu

  • ¼ tsp sugar

  • 1 tsp sesame seeds or furikake

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • pinch of cilantro, chopped

  • 1-3 sprigs of green onion, sliced


basically, remove your tofu carefully from the package. Drain the excess water and with a paper towel soak up the remaining. get another paper towel and wrap the tofu, place a heavy plate on top to ring out as much moisture. let it sit with the plate on top until you finish your sauce.


in another bowl combine the rest of the ingredients above.


plate your tofu (can slice ahead of time into cubes or wedges if desired) and pour your sauce mixture on top.


I like to eat it the way it is but you can always have it as a side dish for korean bbq or eat it with rice and kimchi.
